The brigade was formed on February 1, 1942, in the Moscow region and assigned to the 9th Tank Corps in May 1942. After that, it took part in battles on the Western and Central fronts, in operations on the territory of Ukraine, Belarus and Poland, ending its combat path in Berlin. The M3 was supplied to the USSR under Lend-Lease and was well appreciated by the crews for its excellent capacity and high cross-country ability, which it got thanks to its half-track base. Total capacity of 15 soldiers — room for several commanders with their squads.
